AIDS Walk New Haven

Welcome to AIDS Walk New Haven!
AIDS Walk New Haven is a 5k walk around the New Haven Green area to help fundraise for the New Haven Mayor's Task Force on AIDS, a citywide advisory board dedicated to supporting those affected by HIV/AIDS in the greater New Haven area. Join us in our commitment to fighting against HIV/AIDS and supporting community members who have tested positive!

Instead of the traditional 5k walk, this year's AIDS Walk New Haven will happen virtually on your terms in light of the ongoing pandemic. The virtual walk is scheduled to take place on the weekend of April 30 - May 2. After registering, you will get to decide how your walk is conducted, the time, location, and whether to walk it alone or with friends and family. We need your help in stomping out the stigma against HIV/AIDS!

Here are some tips on how to get start:

  • Commit to some sort of physical activity: walking, running, biking - whatever works best for you!

  • You get to decide the location; you can participate in your neighborhood or in the comforts of your home on a treadmill or stationary bike.

  • Register or donate at this website!

  • Create or join a virtual team! You can also choose to walk solo.

  • Encourage friends, family members, and co-workers to participate and help fundraise!

  • Share photos and videos of you participating in the event during the weekend of April 30th - May 2nd on social media with the #AWNH2021 to help raise awareness. We can be found on Facebook and Instagram!

With your support, we hope to make this virtual AIDS walk fun and interactive while we fight against HIV/AIDS responsibly!
