AIDS Walk New Haven

Welcome to AIDS Walk New Haven!

AIDS Walk New Haven is normally a 5k walk around the New Haven Green area to help fundraise for local organizations whose mission is to fight against HIV/AIDS and support those who have tested positive. Unfortunately, the scheduled annual walk had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Instead of the traditional 5k walk, this year’s AIDS Walk New Haven will happen virtually on your terms! The virtual walk is scheduled to take place on the weekend of June 26th - June 28th. You will get to decide how the walk is conducted, the time, location, and whether to walk it alone or with friends and family. This year's virtual walk would also help celebrate National HIV Testing Day. We need your help to support our efforts in stomping out the stigma against HIV/AIDS!

Here are some tips on how to get started:

  • Commit to some form of physical activity. It can be walking, running or biking - whatever works best for you.

  • You get to decide the location. You can participate in your neighborhood or in the comforts of your home on a treadmill or stationary bike.

  • Register at our website

  • Create or join a virtual team. You can also choose to walk without one.

  • Encourage friends, family members, and co-workers to participate and help fundraise

  • Share photos and videos of you participating in the event during the weekend of June 26th - June 28th on social media with the #AWNH2020 to help raise awareness

With your support, we hope to make this year’s virtual AIDS walk fun and interactive while we fight against AIDS/HIV responsibly.
